Heat Deflection Temperature (Method B)

Purpose: This test method measures the heat deflection temperature at fixed stress/load.

Sample: ISO bars or 80 x 10 x 4 mm

Basic Description: The bars are placed under the deflection machine with 0.45 or 1.80 MPa load (66 or 266 psi).  The samples are lowered into a silicone bath and tested at a controlled ramp rate until the end deflection is occurred.  The temperature is recorded.
